Simulation-based method for HVAC air-side system balancing (2): Fitting models and experimental verification
Wang Qiujian, Pan Yiqun and Huang Zhizhong
Builds the new fitting models based on Modelica Buildings Library with the correction function embedded. Balances a typical branched duct system experimentally. Then compares the dampers’ opening results determined by the simulation and the experiment with each other. At last adopts the uncertainty analysis method utilizing Monte Carlo simulation to analyse the impact of the local pressure loss coefficient (LPLC) model errors on the balancing performance. The results show that the average error between the simulated and experimental results of the dampers’ opening is 4.35%, while the maximum error is less than 15%. The simulated dampers’ opening can guarantee that most of the terminals in the example system are still balanced despite the model errors.
